Is Transportation to the activities provided or will I need a car?

Transportation is not included unless stated on your ticket. You are responsible to arrive at your activity at the scheduled check in time, regardless of how you choose to get there. Auntie recommends renting a car to get around. Taxi fares are expensive; a 20 minute taxi fare (round trip) will probably cost you as much as a 2-day car rental. Local bus service is available but limited.

I have never snorkeled before, Do I need experience?

All companies that offer snorkeling in Maui will give you a personal demonstration on the use of their snorkel equipment. If you are on a snorkel excursion they will provide you with all of your snorkel gear all the snorkel lessons that you wish and many different types of flotation devices to make you feel comfortable in the water. Usually the snorkel companies will put a lifeguard in the water with you. Auntie also offers advice on use and best locations depending on your experience level.

Is there a better time of day for the helicopter flights?

Auntie suggests early morning or late afternoon flights, they usually offer sightseers the best results for their pictures and video. Hawaiian weather is very unpredictable, which makes it even more exciting, as a little rain makes some of the most beautiful rainbows! No matter what time of the day you choose to fly, Auntie believes that your helicopter flight will be one of the most memorable events of your Hawaiian holidays!

Which activities best accommodate children under 5?

Most activities are suitable for the keiki (children). You can always call Auntie for advice and recommendations based on your family’s needs.

When is the best time of year for whale watching in Maui?

Whale season is Aunties favorite time of year! For many years, Auntie has spotted those majestic humpback whales as early as October, but official whale season begins mid- December. If you want to catch the best Shamu-quality show, then February is prime! It is not a time to miss! National Geographic would have a lot to talk about. ;-)

Where do the whales migrate from?

Auntie loves telling the story of how the whales come to Maui the same time every year, as my Tutu always shared. Each year, humpback whales migrate from the cool waters in Alaska to the warm-water breeding grounds in Hawaii. The whales don’t arrive all at once. Their numbers gradually increase as winter approaches.

How do I receive my tickets?

Auntie will email your confirmation. Auntie recommends that when you arrive in Maui pop in Aunties’ store to pick up your tickets and goody bag filled with local coupons!  Benefit from  local advise on  best places to watch sunset, enjoy happy-hour,  cliff dive, swim with turtles or lots of fish or maybe if your lucky spot a spinner dolphin! Ask Auntie for all the best spots!

When is the best weather in Hawaii?

Auntie loves Maui weather year round! A great destination anytime you find a chance to hop on a plane and leave your troubles behind! The coolest months are November – May (70 – 85 degrees) with some early morning and evening rain showers, mostly mauka-side (mountains). Auntie always says, “no rain , no rainbows!” July through October are our hottest months (78 – 90 degrees) and Auntie always hope for the trade winds to blow.

Is there a ferry boat to charter to the other islands?

Auntie loved the Super ferry, but no more ferry. Passenger shuttle services are available between Maui and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. Travel between the major islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island is done primarily on Hawaiian and Go! Airlines.

When is Peak Season in Hawaii?

Hawaii has become an international destination for visitors from Europe, Asia, South and Central America, making it a year round destination. Our peak visitor season from the U.S. and Canada is between Thanksgiving and Easter, with the busiest time during the Christmas and New Year holidays and the summer months (July and August). If you want to avoid the crowds, a good option might be May, September or October. If you’re planning on visiting Hawaii during the busy season, be sure to book extra early as some of our top activities sell out weeks ahead. Auntie says, “the Maui ocean is in the Goldilocks zone-never too cold or too hot, but always juuust riiiight.
